Ronald Britton supplies pre-alloyed bronze powders across copper-to-tin ratios from 90/10 to 50/50, in irregular and spherical morphologies. Every grade is pre-alloyed, so each particle carries the same composition for consistent sintering. Irregular grades are water atomised; spherical grades are gas atomised.
Standard grades run from -100 to -325 mesh, with coarser sizes up to 600 µm and filter grades made to order (see the grades table above). Bronze powder is the primary binder matrix in diamond tool segments and is also used in powder metallurgy components, decorative liquid metal coatings and cold casting. What Cu:Sn ratios and grades are available?
Stock grades (marked * in the grades table) are 90/10 irregular in -325# and 100/350#; 85/15 and 80/20 irregular in -300#; 60/40 irregular in -300# and -325#; 50/50 irregular in -325#; 89/11 spherical in -200#, -300# and 100/300#; and 80/20 spherical in -300#. The other ratios and sizes in the table are made to order. Higher tin content gives a harder, more wear-resistant matrix. Other copper-tin ratios can be sourced to order.
Do you supply pre-alloyed or blended bronze powder?
Pre-alloyed only. The copper and tin are alloyed before the powder is atomised, so every particle carries the same composition, with consistent sintering and no segregation. We do not sell copper-tin premixes.
