Questions & Answers
What is silver powder used for?
Silver powder is used in conductive inks and pastes, brazing filler metals, electrical contact materials and specialist sintering, where high electrical and thermal conductivity are needed. Ronald Britton supplies spherical and electrolytic grades for these uses.
What purity and grades of silver powder are available?
Four grades. Spherical silver powder at Ag 99.5% min, in -150 µm and -400# (under 45 µm). Electrolytic silver powder at Ag 99.9% min, in -45 µm and -400# (under 38 µm). Other sizes are available to specification.
What is the difference between spherical and electrolytic silver powder?
Spherical silver powder has rounded particles and a higher apparent density, typically 4.6 to 4.8 g/cc. Electrolytic silver powder is 99.9% pure, with a lower apparent density of 2.0 to 4.0 g/cc. Tell us your process and we will confirm the right grade.
Can I order small quantities of silver powder?
Yes. Orders from 1 kg, with samples and trial quantities from 250 g for qualification. Every silver grade is made to order and given a confirmed dispatch date when you order, with chemical analysis and batch traceability.
