Cold Metal Spraying is becoming increasingly popular as a means of providing a metallic look and feel to a whole range of surfaces and objects.
Metal powders mixed with polymer resin can be sprayed relatively easily using commercial spray guns. The cured coating can then be finished by grinding, sanding, polishing etc.to produce results resembling cast metal, but without the expense or the weight.
Interesting effects can be achieved by acid washing the finished coating to oxidise the metal surface. Effects such as blackening of copper, bronze and brass and rusting of iron.
Cold metal spray coating can be used in a whole range of applications from fitting out luxury yachts to antimicrobial surfaces in the healthcare industry.
